HAPPY NEW YEARS PEOPLE !!!!
So we have started a new year…. WELCOME TO 2009!….
SO what is your “New Years Resolution” and are you going to stick to it? That is the question. Millions of people world wide every year at the stroke of midnight plan on changing something about there life style or them self, example “I’m going to loose weight or I am going to give up smoking” all these are fine things to change and its always good to change them because your trying to make your life healthier…now I don’t know how many times I have said I am going to loose weight… but what I have learned is that the hole new years resolution is just an excuse that’s correct EXCUSE. Why can’t you make the changes TODAY!? What is wrong with starting NOW? There is nothing from stopping you…as far as I am concerned you’re New Year or your new life starts from the day you decide to change your life. For example if you start say in June that means in June next year that will be your year you have changed…. Just because the world starts a new year does not mean you have to.
For the smoking example according to: http://www.pfizer.com.au/Media/SmokingCessation.aspx
“If Australian smokers would have kept their New Year's resolutions, the rate of smoking in Australia would have decreased by 640,000 smokers in the past six months. Instead, the rate of smokers that successfully quit following a New Year's resolution currently sits at a low 11 per cent according to new research released todayi, prompting expert warnings that Australian 'would-be quitters' need to think differently about how they quit smoking.”
So if the statistics say that only 11 per cent of people actually quit then what would be the point in making a new years resolution. For example, every person the other night I asked “what is there new years resolution”? You know what they all replied “giving up smoking” granted I was in the smokers area but you know funny thing is? I asked them after midnight which would count as the new year doesn’t it? lol
Smoking is ONE of the many resolutions that’s millions make per year. So what is the point of making your life healthier if your not going to actually make an effort to…why wait a hole year to make that decision can you not make it now? And start now? There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to make that resolution today.
My resolution for this year was to get healthier and stick to my life changes I.E being more tidy and loose 10 – 15 kg which I actually started doing 2 months prior to new years… the best way to stick to your resolutions is just by doing it….just do it! And never look back and look forward to being the person you want to be.
I hope this new year brings you all the joy, love and luck and for all those people who made a resolution keep at it…even if you fail half way threw the year don’t give up…just keep to it..
Peace
